Financial literacy helps people make decisions about borrowing, saving and investing. Thailand is a useful case study, while the core lessons apply across countries.
Verified survey context:
The Bank of Thailand reported a 2020 financial-literacy score of 71.0% and a financial-knowledge score of 62.9%. These were overall survey measures, not the income-group statistics previously stated.
The 2024 survey covered 12,558 people aged 15 and above across Thailand.
Its overall financial-literacy score was 72.6%, compared with 71.4% in 2022.
Financial knowledge scored 70.3%; calculations involving interest and compounding remained areas for improvement.

🧠 Financial knowledge is the "foundation", not an option.
We talk about "Investment" we are looking for “Financial freedom” but in reality — if the foundation of “understanding money” is not solid, every dream will stand on the sand that is ready to collapse at any time.
Because "knowledge" is the first asset that one should have. Before talking about stocks, crypto, or real estate, we must clearly know "income, expenses, debt, and goals" first.
🤝 It's time for all sectors to work together to raise the level.
The government should design monetary policy that “Teach rather than force”
educational institution Financial knowledge must begin at the elementary level.
Private businesses should provide employees with access to personal finance courses or advice.
Every reader can ask: do I understand my income, spending, debt and the risks of my investments?
Financial security starts with knowledge and habits, not a universal savings threshold.
When we have “financial knowledge” → we make better decisions when we understand “risks” → we choose the right investments and when we manage our money well → we have a chance to escape the poverty trap.
